there is nothing actually stated about being gay in the bible.
sodom and gomorrha is condemning rape not homosexuality.
leviticus was a book written for the jews of the time period, and also says that if you eat shellfish you should be stoned to death. (people like to pick and choose what they will follow)
if it truly is a sin, they will be forgiven. otherwise, if they lived good lives and treated others well, there is no reason they should not enjoy paradise.

I'm so confused.. where does the Bible say that God was 'pretty upset when Adam had scx w/ Eve? That's not in the Bible I read...must be a different translation.
And I Corinthians 6:9 says that homosexuals (among others), "will not inherit the kingdom of God." No offense, but I think you've gotten what's in the Bible and what's in the church slightly mixed up. :)

A gay person could go to heaven if they accept Christ as savior.
Homosexuality is clearly a sin, but Jesus died for sinners. All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
God was not upset about Adam and Eve having sex. Sex was designed to be between a husband and wife.
There are several places in the Bible it says homosexuality is wrong, all Churches should teach that. They should also accept that all of us are sinners and sinners need to be at church, the way sick need to be in the hospital.

No, look " Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders" 1st Corinthians 6:9. This does not mean that they cannot go to heaven, there are verses against all of us that show we are sinners, this is done so that we realize that we need Jesus, not that we have to "live perfect lives." These verses show us that we can't be with God with our sin, but Jesus can, and He died so that we could. When we take His gift, we appear perfect before God, regardless of our lives here on earth. There is no person that should be judged, we all fall short, very short, of deserving heaven.

Okay, lemme see if I'm right or not.
I didn't look at the answers before typing this, 'cause I wanna guess as to what people will say. I predict that lots of Fundies will say No way Jose, homos can't and shouldn't get into heaven!
As for my own answer....
No one can answer this question, because no one can see what God sees, nor know what God knows. This is between the person and God.
As for the argument against a homosexual entering heaven because s/he is in a state of sin:
Well, who ISN'T in a state of sin when s/he passes on? Most, if not all people are. Can we possibly say that most, if not all, don't make it to heaven? We're not the ones who can answer this question. In fact, no mere mortal can, only God.

The homosexual live style is a sin (see Romans chapter 1)
Sin leads to hell. Yes, there are other sins and we are no less guilty when we commit those sins, sin is sin is sin and it all has the same result for eternity. Hell is the price we must pay, if we pay it ourselves.
Good news, Jesus Christ paid the price for our sins so we don't have to. The gift of salvation is conditional, it requires turning to Jesus and accepting the gift.
God was not upset with Adam and Eve for having sex, God told them to do it. God's design of a woman for the man makes it obvious that His desire is sex within marriage, marriage is between a man and a woman.

We are to love our neighbor and even our enemies. (Matthew 6:43-48) Love the people, not their sin.
God intended for Adam and Eve to be together sexually to multiply the earth. To make families. That's God's love: family. He said to flee sexual immorality though. (1 Corinthians 6:18)
The Bible talks about marriage between a man and a woman. (1 Corinthians 7:1-3)
Homosexuality is considered a sin in the Bible: (1 Corinthians 6:9,10) Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, ...God loves the person and hates the sin. We are to love the person and not the sin, we are to pray for each other to know the love of God and to know the truth, that He is a loving and merciful God who spelled out for us what is best for us and its all in the Bible. Pray to have your eyes and heart opened by God to see and know His truth.

It is clearer than you think. Just do not pick and choose scripture based on proving one or the other. Let scripture speak freely. First, let me ask you if the following are sins...
fornication?
idolatry?
adultery?
theft?
coveting?
drunkeness?
reviling?
extortion?
Would you say "yes"? Then you would be right. For these are condemned elsewhere as well. So now you have to deal with 1 Corinthians 6:8-10
"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."
So, yes, the Bible makes it plain that it is indeed sin, and in the company of some pretty hefty ones at that. But just make sure you understand that God loves the individual, however, their behavior and life choice will lead them into bondage that will harden their hearts to God's eternal salvation. Because Homosexuality involves so much emotional investment, it is almost impossible to tell the them the truth without being labeled with very harsh epithets.
Remember, the sin of homosexuality is no blacker than my sin. And if the Christian truly hated homosexuals, they would keep the message of salvation to themselves, not try to change them, and let them go on their merry way to destruction. But because we care, we take the slings and arrows of 90% of the media and public to speak the truth. Hopefully with love and salt.
The Bible states that homosexuality is behavioral, for Paul states that many of the new believers had been delivered from homosexuality in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11,
"Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites... will inherit the kingdom of God. And SUCH WERE SOME OF YOU. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God."

Maam, homosexuality is a sin, spoken of clearly in the bible, but so were many other sins. There is no argument about this among the rational theologians.
Salvation of a person is not contingent on whether they continue to sin, but on how their works demonstrate their beliefs in Christ's atoning sacrifice for their sins. By the fruits of one's beliefs are we known to God. True believers are repentent and continually seek to move away from their sinful behaviors, praying for guidance and strength from God.

God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
This is a very forward way of saying He disapproves of homosexuality.
He even turned Lot's wife into a Pillar of Salt, for even looking BACK upon such a place of sin.
If you read about Sodom and Gomorrah, you will find that the homosexual (i.e. sexually immoral) men asked Lot to send OUT the Angels of God, for them to have their WAY with them.
Lot instead offered His own daughters to the men, because He would have given them in order to spare the Angels such sin from coming against them.
The Bible is CLEAR on these things, yet people want to pick it apart in order to serve their own desires. This is what is the SIN.
If a person has sexually immoral temptations, NO they will NOT go to hell over temptations. Temptation is NOT SIN! However, it is when the person ACTS UPON that temptation that he then sins, and if caught without turning away from that sin and remaining UNFORGIVEN? Then if they die in that unforgiven state, they are clearly told according to scripture that they are deserving of hell and all it entails.
I have a friend who is gay, he is tempted all the time to have sexual relations with other men. However he has learned how to NOT fall to that temptation and have immoral sexual relations with them. Should he backslide and have sex with another man, or a woman for that matter out of wedlock? He then will again be a sinner, and deserving of hell should Jesus return or should he die in that sinful state.
It is NOT that homosexual people are sinners, it is that when they are in immoral relations with other men and ACT UPON their temptations, that makes them deserving of hell. People have the power within them to turn away from ANY temptation, we are ALL tempted to do things bad. However what homosexuals need to do is TRY to NOT act on that temptation, IF they want to live for God and be found deserving of Heaven, and not hell.
We are to RIGHTLY DIVIDE the Word of God, and study it to show ourselves aprooved. If one prays before reading the Word, God can bring enlightenment to them that ONLY He can. I will be praying for you and others, that God will help you to see what is clearly written. And REMEMBER, when you can take the Bible literally? Do so. But when you can't, take it metaphorically but according to what the Bible teaches and not any person's view of it. Much of the Bible is CLEAR, I recommend you read it like you would a novel. For it IS a novel of History past, present, and future.

You can wish that Jesus means something else by the things he said. That isn't going to change the meaning to suit your desires.
it can not be more clear than 1st Corinthians 6:9
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders"
