I had a Siberian husky. We never had a big problem with his barking. I can how ever tell you that they have a LOT of energy and need lots of room to run. They are very intelligent dogs, how ever they are hard to train and very hard headed. In fact I tried to sign up for group lessons for him and I was told not to waste my time or money by both my vet and the group organizer.
My neighbors have 2 husky's and they stated that they sent both of theirs away for training as puppy's and they never had a barking issue.
I have included a couple of sites that you might be interested in. Also, if you have problems training the dog, there are barking collars.

My parents have had a few Husky dogs ever since I was little. They do have a bit of a barking problem but honestly its less than many other breeds. My dog (German Shepherd) barks more than any of my parents Huskys ever have.
This is a great breed of dog. VERY friendly but they are also VERY energetic. Often times they can be quite stubborn in my experience :) so read up on the breed a bit before getting one would be my advice.

if you live where you're worried about the husky's barking being an issue, you probably shouldn't have a husky there. One of my friends growing up had one....very high energy dogs, and sometimes they express that by barking. Dogs are going to bark, but uncontrollable barking is something the owner has to train them not to do, as much as they can within the qualities of that breed.

Barking is the least of your worries. Siberian huskies have imense coats and energy.
Read about the breed. Get a wall hanging if you like to look at the breed.

I had a siberian for 13 years.
You must do your research. They are a high energy breed that needs alot of mental & physical exercise.
They do not bark very often, but do howl.
You cannot own this breed if you live in an apartment.

why do you want a husky?? what is your lifestyle?? never ever buy a dog because you think it is cute,,,,,,, dogs are bred for specific purposes... huskies like to run, bark and pull..... making them harder to train than a breed that was bred to work with humans ( spaniels, setters, retrievers, shepherds etc.)) go to AKC.ORG and read up on all the breeds,, who knows,, you may find a different breed that would be better suited for you,,, especially if you are already worried about barking.

I've never met a husky that barks alot, but they do have a very high energy level. They need TONS of room to run, or you'll have your house chewed up as it tries to burn up energy.

Huskys do have a "little" prob.with barking....but let me tell you they are the best dog/breed..Smart...easily trained...and the most loving dog breed....others will disagree...but they are great..don't hesitate..unless you live and will keep your Husky in an apt. etc...like........otherwise they are the BEST!!!!!!!!!
