Actually, it depends on the amount of nutrition a person is getting (enough of the right vitamins, etc.). The better nourished you are, the faster your hair & fingernails will grow. The humidity where you live is also a factor. I've found that in drier climates, my hair growth slows down considerably, but in more humid climates, it grows faster.

About a half inch, but some people grow hair a little faster or slower.
