Canidae is a holistic brand of food. I feed it to my french bulldog and she is doing fantastic on it! Good teeth, beautiful coat, great weight.

I always recommend going with a premium dog food. You are going to pay more for it, but you'll be saving money in the long run. The ingredients are human grade, the ingredients come from a consistant source, you don't have to feed as much because each bite is full of quality nutrition.

Other good holistic foods are: Wellness, Innova, Eagle Pack Holistic, California Natural, Natures Balance, Solid Gold, Fromm's, Merrick, etc.
You want to learn to read ingredients. Avoid foods that have "by-products", "ground corn", "BHA or BHT" in it. These premium foods are not something you will find in a grocery or a discount store

Definately the Canidae. Dogs need meat, and there isn't near enough in the Holistic.

I am using canidae--it was suggested for a rotty of mine that had persistent ear infections--the theory being that you can make them healthier from the inside out. I find it to be a very pure dog food. I now use it on all of my dogs--They have a good coat, good teeth, is good for weight maintenance. The only problem with it is, my dogs find it doesnt have much taste, and would no doubt prefer a cheaper dog food. I recommend Canidae highly.

Is that Holistique Blendz by Solid Gold you mean? I would go with Canidae as the ingredients are better:

Canidae All Stages:

Chicken Meal, Turkey Meal, Brown Rice, White Rice, Lamb Meal, Chicken Fat (preserved with Mixed Tocopherols), Herring Meal, Flax Seed, Sun Cured Alfalfa Meal, Sunflower Oil, Chicken, Lecithin, Monocalcium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride, Choline Chloride, Linoleic Acid, Rosemary Extract, Sage Extract, Dried Enterococcus Faecium, Dried Lactobacillus Acidophilus Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus Oryzae Fermentation Extract, Dried Bacillus Subtilis Fermentation Extract, Inulin (from Chicory root), Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Fermentation Solubles, Yucca Schidigera Extract, Mixed Tocopherols (source of Vitamin E), Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Cobalt Amino Acid Chelate, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Ascorbic Acid (source of Vitamin C), Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (source of B2), Beta Carotene, Calcium Pantothenate, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Calcium Iodate, Folic Acid, D-Biotin, Sodium Selenite, Papaya, Vitamin B12 Supplement.

vs. Holistique Blendz:

Oatmeal | Cracked Pearled Barley | Millet | Ocean Fish | Potatoes | Canola Oil | Tomato Pomace | Flaxseed | Natural Flavor | Salmon Oil (source of DHA) | Choline Chloride | Taurine | Dried Chicory Root | Amaranth | Parsley Flakes | Spearmint | Almond Oil | Sesame Oil | Yucca Schidigera Extract | Kelp | Thyme | Blueberries | Cranberries | Apples | Lentils | Quinoa | Vitamin E Supplement | Iron Proteinate | Zinc Proteinate | Copper Proteinate | Ferrous Sulfate | Zinc Sulfate | Copper Sulfate | Potassium Iodide | Thiamine Mononitrate | Manganese Proteinate | Manganous Oxide | Ascorbic Acid | Vitamin A Supplement | Biotin | Calcium Panthothenate | Manganese Sulfate | Sodium Selenite | Pyridoxine Hydrochloride | Vitamin B12 Supplement | Riboflavin | Vitamin D Supplement | Folic Acid |

What you want is the first few ingredients to be named meat sources and the Holistique Blendz are heavier on grains. I'd go with Canidae (it probably is a little cheaper from what I remember too). Chicken Soup is another similar food to Canidae and is about the cheapest super premium food around here.

Holistic care would not shun vet care-holistic care complements classic care. If she's no longer vetting her canines, she's basically neglecting them. Holistic vets DO vaccinate, and that they DO use classic drugs (antibiotics, heartworm preventative, and so on.). in addition they seem on the entire canines rather than basically seeing him as a symptom to repair. they could grant amenities that are non-classic including chiropractic care, rubdown, accupuncture, nutritional counseling, homeopathy (no longer in selection to classic drugs), and so on. Holistic vets are valid vets-actual vets, and good. The "holistic breeder" is basically taking part in vet herself. Did you spot that she is advertising those "holistic" remedies? She, on one web site, admonishes her previous clientele for "ordering in hassle-free terms some" of the "well-being products" that she sells-says she's worried that the puppies should not be healthful without them. So, she's very unquestionably prepare a $seventy 5 %. to make it much less perplexing to order. UGH.

If you are talking about the brand Holistic Blend, I tried it, but it caused my bulldog puppy's skin to get dry and flaky. She now on half merrick, half The honest kitchen-which is a dehydrated raw food. It's great and she's so soft.
