PLEASE, stay away from over the counter diet pills. The majority of them bring serious side effects to a large percentage of users. I am a Fitness Trainer and have seen a lot of it happening first hand. From clinical depression to manic depression and worse, a young woman suffered months and months and had finally to be institutionalized.
The way they work causes in balance in your neurotransmitter systems (the substances that control your moods, your appetite, your ability to concentrate, your ability to multitask or to be so focused in one subject that it becomes an obsession etc...). The proper balance of our neurotransmitters should only be tampered by a psychiatrist, never by drugs over the counter, but unfortunately, diet pills do it, and are not regulated by the FDA. In my opinion they should be banished!!!!
Please, nice please, stay away from them.
Stick to a healthy diet, away from too much simple carbohydrates (all sugars, pastas, breads cookies etc...) and eat more complex carbos such as vegetables and whole grains, eat sufficient protein (about 100 g a day for an average size person) and exercise a minimum of 30 min to one hour a day.
That will make you loose weight in a healthy manner.
What is the fun in being skinny and mentally deranged as many of the Hollywood stars are?
Take good care of yourself, you have just this one body, try to love it.

To lose weight, check with your doctor, make a plan together, eat sensibly and make exercise. Stick to the plan and do not get demoralized, sometimes the process is slow. If you check the pills labels, you will see how they tell you to take them while you exercise and you diet, figures.
Cheers,
