My girlfriend doesn't talk about it much, but she practices something called dream magic. How exactly does this work. I think she's leaving some details out, she's an extremely private person and to her telling me stuff like this is still to personal.

dream magic isn't necessarily about controlling people through dreams.

Dream magic has to do with developing the ability to dream lucidly (knowing that you're dreaming, and therefore being able to consciously control your dreams). Some say it's more effective than waking magic. I've had good experiences with it. Witches tend to be very quiet about their practices, it's often highly encouraged in Wicca. I would advise you not to push it. But she'd probably be more willing to give you general information on the practice, as opposed to divulging personal experiences.

I've never heard of Dream Magic, but a Google search turned up this:

Her practices might be based on the book mentioned in the final link. So, the easiest way to find out about it might be to pick up the book in question and do a bit of reading.

If she's leaving out some details... probably a wise thing on her part. The four points of the Witches Pyramid (based on a Rosicrucian maxim) are: To will, to know, to dare, and to keep silent. Talking about magic may diffuse its effects. I'd advise you not to press too deeply.

As far as I remember, Dream magic is being able to visit and or speak and control people through their dreams. Such as putting thoughts and images into their mind. I may be wrong so don't quote me, but that's at least what I remember. Hope it helps.

wow. I mean wow. I know plenty of witches and one un-dead witch. (she's dead but not dead. kinda like a vamp but not cause she doesn't drink blood. She was born in 1497) My un-dead witch friend started trying dream magick about 50 years ago and she still hasn't been completely success full. there are 2 types of dream magick. the first is some what easier then the 2nd.
1st - you cast spells in your sleep, it is somewhat easy but dangerous. You aren't conscious and if someone of evil natures does get you it's extremely hard to pull yourself back.
2nd - astral projection- your spirit can go to anyplace and time in the past or present. it's extremely hard to do!
Blessed be!
P.S. - you shouldn't be researching your GF online!!!!

Eh, dream magic is weird. I don't do it, because lucid dreaming is a skill I have not developed.

Dunno... but if she's refusing to talk to you about it, and it involves any sort of control (even if that control is just in her head)- and I am not saying that it does, but *if* it does, I'd be a little concerned. I guess I'd just feel like I'd have a right to know, not necessarily what her personal practices are, but if or how they affect me.
