i think ward burton should either get his old CAT ride back or atleast get a better ride than he has now. i think ward could drive better than some people if he could just get the car to do it with. i really hope to see him get into a better car and see him in victory lane.

I am a huge Ward Burton fan. I've met him a couple times and he is really one of the nicest guys in all of nascar. I think the main problem is that he isn't scared to speak his mind about car owners, crew chiefs, and other people that are on his teams so I think some teams are hesitant to hire him. He had been holding out for what he called a "good ride" because he said that he didn't want to be a field filler but i think that is what is happening. I think he waited too long and now is stuck in a contract with a sub-par team. He will qualify for races, but not all of them. I was actually against Toyota coming to nascar until I heard that they were considering him for one of their cars, but he shot himself in the foot with that deal too after he made some negative comments about Toyota joining nascar. Oh well. He is gonna do well in the Busch series and hopefully he will show some big time cup owners he's still got the touch for wheelin a cup car. There are a lot of cars out there that need a personality to drive their car and not just a driver. Like the 96 car. We know who drives it, but have you ever met a die hard Tony Raines fan? Ward has a following and hopefully somebody realizes it soon..

I am a huge Ward fan... Loved it when he won the Daytona 500 back in '02. That was awesome. Anyways.. You are right! He could do better if he had better equipment/ride. But so could Reutimann... So could Eric McClure, Regan Smith, Brandon Whitt.. Hell even Kenny Wallace could win if he was in the right car. Drivers dont hold as much of the cards anymore.. Sure, You gotta be talented as HELL to get into NASCAR.. But teams and good handling cars win races!

And to FLATBACK71... RcR does have a 4th car buddy.. Scott Wimmer will be piloting it around for about half the races this season.. Probably make it full time next year.

Ok it is like this. Ward Burton tried to get a ride last year but He did find one until the end. He took the oppertunity that came about.

I agree with the suggestions of getting a better car. The first two races have been tough breaks for him. Here's hoping he gets a good ride. I miss seeing him. He is a clean racer and a real gentleman.

No, Ward does not need to go back to the CAT 22.

Instead, Richard Childress needs to add a fourth team and bring Ward on board. I would love to see him there with his brother Jeff and with Harvick and Bowyer.

Long time Ward fan. Afraid maybe he waited too long to come back.

Put him in a better car an he will get top 20 maybe top 10's, as opposed to not getting into the race.

You're right, the 4 ride sucks. The 4 car is a career killer for drivers.

Well, I thought He was good when they got rid of Him. (certainly better than Scott Wimmer). He has been gone for a couple of seasons so, it will take a while to rebuild the owners of the top teams but, He will be back.

he's going to 'attempt' and race at Martinsville this weekend. there is not any ensures that he can get the often crappy #4 vehicle into the sphere, the cases at this track are frequently very close precise to backside.
