It does damage it... bleaching especially. Rarely does colored hair look better than natural. People do it because they like little changes.. coloring hair isn't considered too drastic by most people, and people of course want what they can't have. Brunettes want to be blond, blonds want red hair, some people want purple hair, etc. The best advice is just to not get started... no matter how much you spend on salon products and even go to a salon to get it done each time it is damaging and usually doesn't look so hot.
