what do i do now, hard to get or trying to get?

I have been talking to this guy who is 2 years older than me. We have talked alot online and he voluntarily gave me his number, which I have not used. I have given him reason to believe that I am interested and ditto from him. However in person both of us are shy and don't talk to each other. I have approached him about this and nothing resulted, what SHOULD I DO?
