Does your dog have really dry flakey skin? It could be mange or it also could be food or environmental allergies. Take the dog into the vet for the mange as that can be treated. For the food, make sure you're feeding a type of food without the most common allergens, like corn, wheat, soy, sorghum and other grains that are pretty indigestible to many dogs. Foods such as Pedigree, Purina, IAMS, Science Diet, etc all have many allergens in them. Fish oil capsules plus vitamin E capsules with a quality food like Chicken Soup, Innova, Canidae, Merrick, Wellness, Natural Balance, etc will help. For environmental allergies, your vet can do a skin test for that as well.
