We are remodeling a mountain home that has red and white oak wood floors...Having a hard time deciding on type of wood we should use on kitchen cabinets.. There is also stained white pine tongue and groove on ceilings...

If you have wood floors and go with wood cabinets, it will be too much wood. Good design usually calls for noticeable contrast. Have you considered going with white cabinets? If you like the look of butcher block countertops, you can try to match them with the one of the colors on the floor.

i think that since your floors are a variation of two colors, that i would pick cabinets that when stained a color to blend in with the floors, they would be more a solid color so it is not to busy. the floor and the cabinets need to compliment each other not clash. hope this made sense. good luck

if the floor is dark..definatley go with a lighter wood on the cabinets...u don't want too much dark in the kithcen

kitchen should be bright and fun
