There are no words in the spanish language starting with W, besides those whose origin is a foreign language. For those foreign words that have been fully incorporated to the spanish language, the starting letter have changed from w to v (like wagon: vagón; waltz: vals; watt: vatio). For those words coming from the english language, sometimes it keeps it's original form (like in whisky)

There is actually no w in the true spanish alphabet. the w sound is made with the GÜ. Usually the w is pronounced like a b. for example...in the name oswaldo...it is pronounced like osbaldo. all words with a w are from a foreign influence.
