You really need to go see your doctor! Depression will consume you if you let it! I am fighting with it now and I have good days and really bad days but you must see the doctor. My family and friends made me go because I became such a different person and it was really a major change. I got depressed when my mom died suddendly, I thought something was really wrong with me, I actually thought I was going crazy. We are still working with meds but I have noticed a small change, not quite myself yet hopefully some time soon. I have 4 kids, a husband, dog and I work full time so there is no time to be depressed for me. I can only imagine how hard it is for you being single and a dad, but it can get better....

If it is severe, you need a psychologist to prescribe some drugs to restore your brain chemical balance.

Also you need to concentrate on your kid(s). They are the most important thing in your life. Depression comes from selfishness. You need to get your thoughts off of yourself and on to your precious kid(s). Good luck and don't follow through with depression, a despicable selfish act that will scar your kid(s) for life.

If you can, get some counseling with a minister. That can help lift your thoughts too.

First, try to understand why you are depressed so you can deal with it properly.
Second, try to find others around you that you trust, that will support and guide you through this. Time will tend to heal.
Third, remember that your kid or kids are your priority and that will help you focus.
Good luck.
