Go with a frost...that's what I do...still have some natural black...shades of brown thru light blonde...definitely go to a hairdresser to do it...one of the joys of black hair is certain chemicals can cause very nasty results including orange/green hair. I use Fructis shampoo & conditioner to keep my hair soft because you are actually stripping the pigment from your hair which can make it like straw.
Good Luck

I would suggest going to a hair stylist that is good with hair color and let that person color your hair. You probably need to take the original color out of your hair and then put the new color over top of it. That is a two step process and if not done correctly, can fry your hair and cause it to break off and then you will really have a mess.

Light color hair is fairly easy to change because there is little color there. Black hair is very hard to lighten. You do need to go to a professional at least the first time. Black hair is beautiful too!!

why would you want to do that. black hair can be beautiful if properly cared for. make everything work with it. bold colors. bold shapes. silver jewelry, no gold. you would have to bleach your skin and wear blue or green contacts, and change your other features. don't do it. The most would a little bleach that will give it a reddish tint. Be proud of what you are. Incidentally I am blue eyed pink skinned blond, my father was blue eyed black hair. I like black haired women best, but true blondes have nicer bodies.

Did you dye it black, or is it naturally that color? At any rate, you need to lift off the color you got there so you need peroxide- I don't recommend doing it at home as you can seriously damage your hair. Go to a salon so they can do it for you, believe me, it's not worth the money you will need to spend if something goes wrong.

you have to bleach your hair. If you're doing it from the box, you will probably have to use 2-3 boxes. You're best bet is going to a salon. Remember to deep condition. Its very harsh on the hair!
