Yes. Soda is loaded with empty carbs and a LOT of sugar. Give all the sodas you have left away and invest in a few cases of bottleed water. Keep them all ovber the place and drink them eve when your not tevchnically thirsty. You'll get used to drinking them even if you don't like water.

Bluemoon is right cutting out salt will help you out a lot too. If you can't get sea salt try fiunding that half sodium salt and only using half of what you normally would. THat way you are actually getting about a quarter of the sodium them you normally would.

I used to do that too, and the first thing I did on my weight loss plan was start drinking diet. So far I have lost 15 lbs. It's no wonder, since a can of soda has like 100 calories I was drinking at least 500-600 cals a day in soda alone. Once u get used to diet it's all gravy cause there are 0 cals in it. Takes a while though.

Holy cow! Yes, you will lose weight! You're taking in an insane # of "empty (non-nutritional) calories" per day. A 12 oz. can of coke is 155 calories. 8 of those will provide 1240 calories, which for some people would be their entire daily calorie needs!! 12 cans would equal 1860 calories.

Switch to diet soda or better yet, water (with lemon, maybe). Even sugar free flavored water would be better for you than all of that soda. If all you did was cut out the soda -- even without exercise or limiting anything else in your diet, you would definitely lose weight.

Good luck.

Soda is NOT good for you at all. If you leave a teeth in soda over night it will just rot away completely. EW. I read in a magazine that by dropping soda out of your diet for a whole year you will lose 25 pounds. Since soda is a big part of your diet, you will probably lose more than that. I try to, and i just drink soda occasionally now.

8-12 sodas... that's insane! that's a few thousand extra calories on top of what you're eating and every 3500 calories that you don't burn off is equal to about one pound. try drinking water instead, but not juice because it has just as many calories! crystal light is okay and gatorade isn't too bad either, but water is the best option. you will probably lose some weight, but eating right and excercising are important if you want to see a big difference.

Yes!! Drinking Soda's have a lot of calories in them. Unless you are speaking of diet soda. Water is a great way to become healthy, and I think it would help you with weight loss also.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

it's possible that you're at your set point ("natural" weight) and just have an astounding metabolism, but it's a lot more likely that you'll be all-around more healthy if you cut back on soda. no only will you lose some weight, but you'll sleep better and function better long-term
