I think he is scared or something. He used to go up to my boyfriend all the time and now he wont go near him. He wont even come in our room. We are worried something bad happend to him. I am open to any suggestions on how we can get him back to normal again. He used to play and be really funny. Now he is skitish and nervous all the time towards everyone and he rarely even purrs...we are so worried he is our baby!!

Ok. My cat has this phobia about human boys. He is scared. When i want him to be happy, I let him go under my sheet. You know the sheets with the stretchy parts on the corners? Well, get one of those, then, put him under it and put it up and float down. There should b like a air bubble. Gently move your hand across the top of the sheet. Usually the cat will play. Hope he feels better. = )

Give him extra attention, and do your utmost to encourage play. If he feels secure with you he'll start purring again. Be patient - I am sure he will snap out of it. If you have ever had a traumatic experience, such as being in a car accident, remember how shaken you felt afterward. Your kitty may be suffering the feline equivalent of shell shock.

Sounds like he was friendly with maybe a wild animal or a horrible teen!

I agree with you that something horrible happened when he got out. If your cat is an indoor cat, you should have really paid more attention to his safety and security. Just like any trauma, it has changed the way of thinking forever. This is your new cat.

Thank GOD it wasn't a REAL baby, could you imagine if you were this lazy with security and a toddler? I hope you learned your lesson.

You should try to play with him more and see what happens. He probably got scared by something and is stil kinda shoked by it. He'll be back to normal with paying involved.

Try giving him a bit of tuna! Really and while he eats it, pet him and talk lovingly towards him
