It depends on what state you live in & how far the stalking has progressed. I got my stalking order denied against my ex because he hadn't physically hurt me, even though the cops were the ones to tell me to get it. The courts do a great job at blaming the victim & really don't do anything for prevention: you have to be hurt physically by him first :(.
You can, however, file for telephonic harrassment & get a judgment so he can't call you or go by where you live. Look into the legal system in your state & good luck.
Oh--and document EVERYTHING: you need all the evidence you can get.

-----A "previous ex" is a contradiction. This could be serious. Perhaps you can get help from online resources--search the Internet--and parents, teachers, Hot Line, guidance counselor, police. Have you strongly told him to stop? That would be the first step. ---Jim

file an order of protection against this person. You have to do that through the courts though . good luck to you .
