Yes, we do observe Lent. Some of us undertake the spiritual disciplines of prayer, fasting, Bible study and acts of compassion and justice during Lent. We do this to prepare our hearts in our journey to the cross especially as we look toward the observance of Holy Week especially Holy (Maundy) Thursday and Good Friday and then celebrate the resurrection on Easter Sunday.

Hope this helps.

The Methodist church does practice Lent. Read more about it at the following link: http://www.aldersgate.org/lent_season.htm

I don't know, but lent is a tradition of man and not of God. Meaning it does not mean anything to God.
