I understand that an indoor, neutered cat can expect to live 18-20 years with good care - and luck in not contracting any nasty diseases. My cat is 11 years old, and at her last checkup the vet said that she is in perfect health - in fact, she is in excellent shape for a cat her age. A friend of mine buried an 18-year-old cat several years ago; she suffered thyroid problems and complete deafness for the last two years of her life and was finally done in by kidney failure. A few months before she died she killed a rat!
Your cat must have good genes. A 26 year old cat is the equivalent of a human being 115-120 years old, if I recall correctly.

That is a remarkable age for a cat. I grew up with a cat, and this was before the spaying, shots ,and the vets, who was an inside/outside cat, who lived to be 18 +, which was really old at that time. She finally laid down in the lily patch, an slept away. I think she had more than 9 lives.

26? Wow. That's great!
You must be doing something right.
I think with cats it's probably the same as with people. Good genes, not too much food and a sunny disposition.

I know the average for a Siamese is 20 yrs. Good for Kitty! My aunt's orange tabby was 21 when he passed.
