a 6" pro comp lift stage 1 runs about 1300$, tiers (depending on what you want) 1100 -?(michey thompsons baja claw 35/12.5/R16, wheels (800-?).. all this with installatino is around 3500.
lifting a taco is not that expensive.

I can't give you an accurate cost, it depends on what you want to install. But if you are looking to save money, I'd suggest a body lift rather than a suspension lift. If you do lift your truck, you will probably have to consider getting bigger tires, especially with a 6" lift. Even though Tacomas come standard with oversized tires, they will look too small when lifted.
You can usually get body lifts for a couple hundred $$.

You should watch a show called "Extreme 4X4". Jesse and Ian do that on almost three quarters of their shows. They are really into rock climbers and lift kits are their specialty. Plus Jesse is hotter than a two dollar pistol. Installing a lift kit is not for the faint hearted. It is very hard to do. And Expensive.

i've been told to get it profesionally done it's about 1000$ an inch depending on whether you do body lift or suspension lift also

much less than it will to restore it to original specs after you void your warranty, destroy the suspension and blow the front and rear axles.
