can a dvd be converted to wmv?

I want to be able to play them off my computer using my xbox 360, which only plays wmv as far as I know.

virtualdubmod can convert any format to another. as long as you have the codecs installed. It is the best transcoder I know of, it just takes a few minutes to figure it out. The best way to do it, is to rip the dvd with dvd decrypter, make sure you change the settings to not split the vob files. Select main movie only, and hit go. The result will be one big vobfile and one ifo file. load that file into virtualdubmod, then click video and compression. pick the format you want to transcode to, and then configure the settings you want. then go to streams and select the stream you want. right click it and click compression and again pick the format and configure the settings Make sure that under video and audio they are selected to full processing, and not direct stream copy. click file and save as. give the file a name hit ok and watch it go. If you have no idea what I am talking about, just google virtualdubmod guides. And as I said it is the best transcoder I know of. I can rip a dvd to xvid with 5.1 mp3 sound, and fit it on one cdr, while the audio loses gain, (you have to turn it up) the video usually looks very much as good as the dvd. (most people cant tell the difference)

use allconverter. it is a shareware u have to buy but if its trial version than it will convert about 20 songs at a time.
