Which, in Hollywood terms, means that at one point there was a young girl named Emily Rose. Doesn't have to go much farther than that.

It was supposedly BASED on a true story...not everything that happened in the movie happened in real life. The movie is an exaggerated version of what happened.

It was "adapted" for the movie, but is based on first hand accounts of actual events. So was The Exorcist.

Yes, I think there was probably a little bit of creative license but, yes, it was real. You should hear a real exorcism first hand. The Devil is very real and his little minions are real too but, just remember who Jesus is and depend on that.

It was loosely based on a real story of a very sick girl. The movie is a VERY fictionalized take on it.
(The real girl's name was Anneliese Michel)
