Nobody has found any evidence for the existence of a Jesus yet. All the mythology places the birth of this elusive character at somewhere between 9 BCE and 1 BCE, with most bets placed on 4 BCE.

There is no record at all of either of the king Herods killing innocent babies under two years old, and most of the chronologies of the Jesus character fall outside the reign of either Herod if he is to be contemporary with Pontius Pilate. The story just doesn't hang together, so my conclusion is that 'Jesus' is a mythological character who has no birthday.

It is rather instructive that the Roman emperor, Constantine, should have adopted Christianity and concurrently rejiggered the calendar to focus on his new political tool. Not until after this, three, four, or five hundred years later, did anyone create a calenadar based on the birth of Jesus, who conveniently, was never actually born.

Is it any wonder we are still hazy on this?

The monks that recorded the new calender were off by 4 years according to today's experts, so Jesus was around 5 in 1 A.D.

Jesus Born 15 of Etanim(Tisri) of the Second year before common era and died 14 Nisan of 33 CE. remember there is no zero year, years are ordinal numbers (first, second, etc) not cardinal (one, two, etc)

that is an accurate statement. however by the time this system of time was invented jesus was already dead. leading people to the false conclusion that 1ad was the year he died and AD stands for after death. not true i t stands for anno dimini (or sometihng like that..) translating form latin to year of our lord.

AD stands for anna domini. which in latin means "in the year of our Lord." some people say it started after crucifixion and others say it was when He was born. but most likely was the latter.

AD stands for Anno Domini and refers to when christ was alive. (not after his death)
Although it has been determined that what we know of as 1AD is inaccurate as being when christ was born.
