I found this on nascar.com under news. hope it helps. It was a hard hit. I am glad he is okay.
FONTANA, Calif. -- David Reutimann was glassy-eyed and sore after enduring the hardest hit of his career on Sunday at California Speedway, but the rookie driver insisted he was OK.
"I am fine," said Reutimann, who spent over a half-hour in the infield medical center. "NASCAR just likes to triple-check, so that is what we had going on."
Reutimann was tapped from behind by Greg Biffle on Lap 240 of the Auto Club 500, sending him hard into the Turn 3 wall. His No. 00 Toyota was so badly damaged it took his crew an hour to repair it sufficiently to load onto the transporter.
"I don't know. Somebody got into us getting [into Turn 3], and I thought I was low, and I can't say for sure what exactly happened," Reutimann said. "All I know is the end result. Thank the Lord I am OK and no one else was in it."
Reutimann is one of only three Toyota drivers to make both races this season, but he has failed to finish either one of them after crashing out at Daytona and Fontana.

Found this on ESPN.com
The g-force impact during David Reutimann's crash Sunday at California Speedway is among the hardest ever recorded, NASCAR officials told ESPN.com on Monday.
NASCAR doesn't disclose exact figures.
"We can't say it's the hardest [impact], period, because there are so many variables involved," NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said. "But it is among the hardest impacts we've recorded."
Reutimann was riding along one lap down with 11 laps remaining in the Auto Club 500 when Greg Biffle approached from behind. Biffle tapped Reutimann, sending the No. 00 Toyota head-on into the outside wall. The car lifted off the ground and was completely destroyed.
The in-car video feed showed Reutimann slumped over the steering wheel, appearing to be knocked unconscious. But MWR vice president Ty Norris told ESPN.com Monday that Reutimann stressed to the team he was not unconscious, but rather was unable to breathe upon impact.
Norris said Reutimann's left foot is badly bruised, having gotten hung up in the pedals during the crash.
Reutimann flew home with the team Sunday night and slept for some 80 percent of the flight, Norris said. Norris said Reutimann's speech is clear, but he's walking with a noticeable limp.
Reutimann is resting at home, and still plans to run the NASCAR Busch Series race this weekend in Mexico City, Norris said.

He is all right. According to what I've heard, he just got the wind knocked out of him and his foot got tangled up in the pedals. So he has a bruised foot and he is most definitely sore but other than that, he is ok. Thank God for all of the safety gear they have because he could have been a lot worse off than he was.

The hit he took looked harder than the hit that took Dale Earnhardts life.Such a hit knocks the breath out of your lungs and (if you have asthma you know what I mean) you gasp for air you can not feel the air as you breath.
Fortunately he has a deep bruise to his foot where it got caught between the peddles.

That was the best wreck I have ever seen and it ended the best way possible...the driver ( David Reutimann ) was alright, had the wind knocked out of him, but alright and the Toyota ended up to be a cover shot for any NASCAR magazine...TOTALLY WRECKED BEYOND RECOGINTION..THATS HOW ALL TOYOTAS NEED TO BE IN A NASCAR RACE.

yeah he is ok. it was kinda like tony stewart's hit at lowes motor speedway last year. tony's wreck was a little worse but in both cases, hard hit, driver ok. but he got the breath knocked out of him and probablly dident want to do much but lie down the rest of the day, but it just goes to show you safety improvements, had that been 5 years ago, he could have been dead.

I think it saved his life, too. The poor boy looked so stunned. I'm glad he got help quickly.
And I thank everyone for the articles, but I'm surprised nobody else has said, "Guess he shouldn't be taking pizza orders in the car anymore!" :-D
