At last count over 350.000 inocent men, women& children were killed in the Irac war efforts. This seal heavest by fishermen is brought to the attention of many U S citisens each year ,quite often by a drug addict actor in Hollywood when they say to boycot the seal hunt . The quota 0f 270.00 seals is of more concern to them then that issue .These seals are now extended into our harbours ,rivers, and unto our warves .They eat vast amounts of codfish and lumpfish, etc.

A:
unfortunately too many people in this country give "celebrities" too much credit. Really, what are they? Famous that is about it. Not like they have degrees in biology or such
B:
when we took over this world (meaning people) built our houses on animals land, in their bays on their mountains etc. By doing this, by default we also designated ourselves the managers of the lesser animals. Maintain healthy herds ad levels to sustain in the enviroment that is left for them.

CONCLUSION:
People that live in their big houses in their big cities separated from reality can scream their beliefs of how horrible it is to kill these little defenseless animals (regardless of species) when they have never seen them first hand dying of:
disease, starvation, overpopulation etc.

perception of reality is all it is. That is their perception of reality and we have ours.

personally, I don't think I could hunt seals however I understand the conservation ethics behind it.

There will always be celebs with misguided beliefs and there will always be conservationists with logical beliefs.

Good hunting and Godspeed

kind makes me mad, i know they have a right to protest the hunt, but on the east coast jobs can be few and far between so when these stars fly in for a couple of hours, take a few pic, then fly back home and cry bloody murder i can't help but think, are they trying to save animals or draw attention to their careers? maybe the next time they can stay for a few days and spend some of their billions, i think that they would gain some creditability with locals. when sir Paul and the one legged monster visited PEI last year the island was busy with the east coast music awards, he could have made a few appearances taken some pictures and done a lot to draw some global publicity for a great festival and a great place to live, oddly enough no fishermen from PEI are involved in the hunt, just that the island is so close to the ice flows and the hunt that sealers use it as a base of operations.
