If I'd let everything go;
the thoughts,
expressions,
and feelings
that are held inside me all the time,
then people would see the happiness he brings to me.
Why am I not allowed to be with someone who makes me happy?
I need to live my own life....
And choose the people that I want to participate in it.
They haven't even met him, and still, they don't give him one chance.

If only you'd see how sweet he treats me.
How everday he reminds me that I'm the only girl he wants to be with.
He's my long-time best friend, and the truest I've ever had.
We know eachother inside out.
And for every flaw we find, we love eachother even more.
It lets us both know how real this is.
How real it can be, if you'd give it just one opportunity.

I will wait, though.
I will be patient and he will too.
We know that sooner or later, it won't be in your hands to decide this.
We just hope that you approve of this and be happy to see us always,
hand in hand.
I would hate to lose you. I would.
But I don't think it hurts to let him try...

a poem does not have to rhyme or please anyone else - what matters is that it is what you are feeling.

I close my eyes I`m no longer here; i`m finding There `s existence previous... it extremely is the beginning factor dealing with many closed doors; in spite of the undeniable fact that it`s by no potential ending. I don`t think of we`re ever completely grown up we `re in basic terms consistently changing and finding yet no longer looking even a glimpse of ourself consistently looking around and searching interior Do you fairly discover what you`re finding. Is it a dream or Is it a fact. lack of understanding is a bliss; i actually agreed.

Depending on how old you are, this seems like a very mature poem. If your parents havent met him yet you are right to be respectful and wait and seek their approval. Dads initially feel it is their duty to protect their daughters from ALL men but dont worry they'll eventually get over this and let you date whoever you want =)

also..
i think 'how sweet' should be 'how sweetly'

i think that is very moving. I could tell from the beginning that it was about your parents not letting you be with the one you love. I had to go through that one time. My bf is 2 years older than me and one time i broke up with him because i felt like i was coming between him and his friends. And I called my dad to come pick me up from school and both my parents told me I wasn't allowed to talk to him or get back with him. but he called me later and I apologized and we said we were going to get back together the next day and my dad asked me how i was doing and I told him that we were going to get back together and he and my mom forbid me to. I couldn't even call(but I did anyway), they wouldn't even talk about until report cards came out and only then if I good grades. But anyway the point is, you need to sit down with your parents and talk to them heart to heart without any screaming because that never solves anything. Trust me. I yell at my parents and they yell back.

Your parents are right.

However - you are also right - if you will wait and be patient, and if he will wait and be patient - then you can be sure at the end of it that you are definitely the one he wants
