The car builders had all this time to get a great car for Daytona and brought junk and now Fontana!

No, it's not over. Unless this is the 5th race and Junior is not qualified in the the Top 35, then yes, it's going to be hard because they will have to qualify and they are not known for qualifying. Plus, even after the 5th race, it won't be that hard. They have some really good tracks and have improved dramatically at their mile, mile and a half and two mile tracks. So, it's not over by a long shot. He has some pretty Top 35 and 40 race finishers in front of him. I mean, it could be worst. He could in the negative, like a certain someone.

Okay. It's way too early to start this. We have only had 2 races. Jr is currently 40th in points. Granted, I was hoping for a better start to this year than what I am seeing, but I refuse to give up on this team. Every team has it's good and bad days. This is what is happening at DEI right now. Things will improve! If you are a real Jr fan, you need to stay optimistic! I have faith that they will bouce back from this. They may not win a championship or even hit the top 12, but things will get better. I think there are too many things going on at DEI right now. If this whole contract deal would just die down, things would be a lot less stressful.

Give the team a chance, and things will turn around!

Yes, they ran lousy in both Daytona and Fontana. I am a die hard Earnheart fan, but can't believe that DEI couldn't come up with an engine to run unleaded gas. Jr. said they blew up two motors in earlier practice, so they had to know something wasn't right. As an aside, I heard Tony Eury Sr. say last season that he was disappointed with DEI's engine program. It's all falling into place. Unfortunately, it's totally the wrong place!! I think Jr's season is toast, unless something dramatic happens soon!

It looks like the DEI hierarchy are doing little things to irritate Junior to the point where he will call it quits. Even though he says he won't leave the inc., I think he should. It'll give him more experience in the long run. But this theory won't be confirmed until the next few races. Let's see how the number 8 runs then.

It is still very early in the season to say it's over for Jr. But they have to make a good showing at Vegas if they are going to do something descent with the season.

Nothing would make me happier than seeing Jr do bad these next three races, then miss a race or two. That would be so awesome, it would have Earnhardt Nation in an uproar.
NASCAR wouldn't let that happen though, they would come up with some bogus new rule that made it so he would be in the race. Just like the mysterious cautions that come out everytime he just so happens to need one.

Junior will find a way to bounce back, it's not too unusual for good drivers to mess up like this at the start, by midpoint, he will definitely be top 15 in points

I'm looking forward to many more DNF's for Dale Jr. His is the only face you see on TV. Like he's some racing God. I have news for everyone, he's not. There are many drivers that run better than he does. Let's see. Kenseth, Martin, Stewart, Johnson, Gordon, Burton, Harvick. All of these guys run consistently better than he does. But everytime you turn on the TV who do you see. Why won't NASCAR show us someone who can actually win a race? Because of his name. He's riding on his name. It's ashame

Season has just begun he will climb out of it. I say he will win at least 3 times this year and it will put him back near the top

a lot of experts on yahoo! were saying he and jeffy weren't going to make the Chase. Jr's definitely in a whole, but it's nothing a few top 10s or 5s in a row won't cure. - todd shriber
