You can gain weight by either eating more or being less active, or both. In my opinion, the best way to bulk is to drink your calories. You won't feel bloated (unless you are lactose intolerant and drink milk), and it is easy to drink a glass of juice with lunch an add 100s of calories by doing so. However, if you eat "regular food" and what is assumed to be a "regular portion", then you might want to ask your doctor to check for celiac disease. Gluten intolerances/sensitivies/celiac disease are on the rise in developed Western nations. Gluten is protein common in several types of grains, like wheat and barley. Problems digesting gluten can cause damage to the lining of your intestines, making it difficult for your body to absorb nutrients. Hence why you may feel bloated while still being thin. Again, check for celiac disease first. If you don't have it, then for a month or so go on a gluten-free diet. You might find out you can eat more gluten-free foods than what you were eating prior.
