Does teeth whitening make your gums more sensitive and make stufff like drinking coffee worse for stains?

It can initially after bleaching since your teeth are more "porous", but if you rinse w/ Fluoride that will help "seal" your teeth. Sensitive gums result from chemical irritation, epithelial breakdown, and that only improves with healing time.

After you bleach, or if you bleach often, the pores in your teeth are open. If you drink coffee or tea or eat something such as berries or red sauce after you bleach all of the coloring will go into the pores. Once the pores close off either with the pH balancing from your saliva, flouride or water that stain will be trapped in the tooth. The pores open with response to any acid. That's how teeth get stained in the first place. Your teeth act in a since as dehydrated and when you drink something it tries to hold all that it can. You should drink flouridated water after bleaching.
