A landmine, seriously. Stupid snappy little dogs they are. Yorkshire Terriers yap, they don't bark. Dogs bark therefore the Yorkshire Terrier isn't a dog.

Buy a Great Dane, or a German Shepherd. Buy a proper dog not a rat.

I have friends with lots of dogs, some dogs that are now on the dangerous dogs list and the only one I have been bitten by was a Yorkie (twice).
I was on Dawlish beach with my nephews and brother in law flying a kite, when I felt a sharp pain in my ankle. 30 seconds later it's there again and what's more I didn't get an apology from the owner.

I like dogs but not Yorkie's.
Sorry.

Another terrier in the toy group, like a Toy Fox Terrier, Silky Terrier, Affenpinscher, Miniature Pinscher may be a good personality match if your yorkie is a typical "big dog in little body" one
A maltese would be similar in size and care, and good if your yorkie s a baby.

yorkies get along great with just about any other dog. 2 can be cute as a pair. Be prepared the first one is going to be jeoulous. Mine would not even take real meat as a treat from me for almost 6 months would not sleep with me. she kept going to my husband. What a stubborn little thing. but she learned to love him and they were really close and they made beautiful loving puppies together. but they got along great with my 145lb mutt from the pound too.

go to the city newspaper website, and look under classifieds then under pets try Yorke's or chihuahua b/c some yorkies are known to provoke other dogs which intern may cause fights and you don't him to get hurt

I would choose a maltese or a chihuahua as a companion.

Of course, two yorkies are very cute, too.
