You can treat the cough with several over the counter remedies. You may feel like throwing up because your sinuses are draining into your stomach, so look for something that treats both your cough and sinus/nasal congestion. Of course, your nausea could also be related to your period. If I were you, I'd just go for the multi-symptom Ny-Quil, which contains acetaminophen (tylenol), which could help with any cramping-type issues that you have.
Sorry you don't feel well...and even though you said don't suggest going to the doctor. You mentioned that you were in school...does your school have a nurse or student health center? I know that at my college the student health center was a joke, but if you had a nasty cold type thing, they would usually hook us up with all kinds of free medicine...which is cheaper than going to Wal-Mart or CVS and buying the over the counter stuff. Of course, you may not have this as an option, but it's worth looking into.

For the "feeling like throwing up" try smelling rubbing alcohol for a few seconds. Period - Motrin. Cough - Sudafed, Cold MD, or Mucinux, cough syrups do not work they just decrease it slightly and may make things worse by suppressing them.

It depends. Do you feel nauseous because of your period or because you feel sick. Take a cough suppressant (a pill form may be best for you if you are feeling nauseated) and some midol or pamprin to help with your nausea if it's due to your period. If the nausea is due to being sick your nervous you may just have to wait it out (although there are some over-the-counter things you can take to help with nausea, you just have to look for them). I hope you feel better soon and good luck with your new job!
