My older brother is 22 and I'm 18, I allow him to sleep with me. I usualy sleep on his chest, and he wraps his arms around me. But since the day I was born, I've been so happy around him. I just want answers to this question I keep asking myself.

Are you the big spoon or the little spoon?

Actually, there is nothing particularly wrong about guys sleeping together in the same bed. It's just culturally in Western Society it appears to be unacceptable because of the same stigma making homosexuality unacceptable. There is an assumption (which may well be incorrect) that the two of you are sexually active with each other if you are sleeping in the same bed. Oddly, western society seems to be happy to accept two girls sleeping together in the same bed with many girls knowing that it can just be a friendship thing and completely a-sexual, and other people thinking (?wishing/hoping) it is sexual :-)

If you are doing it for purely practical reasons (lack of space on the couch or on the floor because of the other 20 family members) or have some other non-sexual reason, you might well feel that it's okay.

On the other hand - you are going to be faced with this whole stigma thing. It seems that you are questioning the whole set up yourself. Perhaps it's time to get a sleeping bag or a separate bed.

I really don`t know what to say other than maybe you feel secure with him. But this is not normal, I know you probably feel your love for him but you need to stop this. What are you going to do when you have a boyfriend (which you should have at the age of 18). I can`t imagine your parents allowing this. I hope you are not going any further then just sleeping because this is an even BIGGER problem. You need to talk to a therapist and find out what the problem is. GOOD LUCK

I'm 25, my sister is 27 and we sleep together sometimes. My husband died recently and she thinks that will comfort me. It's not much of a help, but I allow her to sleep with me... There's nothing homosexual in it. GOOD GOD!!!! Americans are little limited... In some countries families do stay together for a long time... Sometimes they do share a bed! For a bunch of a-sexual reasons!!!!

It's nothing wrong with being happy around family members.

Or maybe i just became lesbian?!

Maybe you look up to your older brother, and have developed an obsession with him.He is older, and one day will move out, which subconsciously from fear of this, causes you to cling to him.He could be your "security blanket",in a funny find of way...Don't think that makes you gay.Just afraid of being separated from a sibling that has been there for you...Just my two cents worth....ladybug.

If things are totally brotherly, there NEVER ANY sexual tension, or feelings of lust, or sexual acts for that matter i suppose it's just a brotherly bond. But you really have to think of how you feel when you're with him..do you have any lustful or undescribable feelings, or is it purely brotherly closeness?

I hope you have sweet dreams....if you guys have been doing this since you were born and nothing funny happened, I don't think it will happen now....but you must break away as he needs to move on...and you can't have his chest forever....

That is a very unhealty thing to do.. you may need to ask a therapist why you feel the need to have him there with you. Its not a normal feeling.
