What does data validation mean? Why and how is it used? What does problem solving mean? What do pivot tables allow you to do?

The best way to find out is to click on the "help" icon in Excel and type the word of the question you're looking for. It does a pretty good job of explaining almost everything.

Pivot tables are extremely complicated to learn. You'd need to take a course or get an instruction book.

All three of your topics are very advanced Excel topics so if you're a beginner or moderate user you'll need to take an advanced course or follow a step by step manual.

Data validation is self explanatory.... it validates the data entered into a cell. If you only want the data entered to be a number or from a list, it will make sure that is what is entered.... or give an error.

Problem solving generally refers to mathmatical operations.

Pivot Table.... read about it ... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pivot_table
