Maybe you could treat them to some shakes from McD's off the dollar menu or something... :) ;) I know what you mean by being in a small town though, I used to live in one and there wasn't any more than a grocery store, gas station, and a dollar general.

how about a picnick? a few sandwiches, some drinks, hike it there so it takes a while, have it near a river to swim or fish in. or how about a field trip? get in a car and just go. maybe some camping. be creative with your ideas. there are many ways to have fun if you think about it.
