My fiance is from Grenada and I am thinking about moving there in 10 years when I retire from the military. What would I need to do in order to move there permanantly? Any paperwork? Forms? Passport?

Are there any other U.S. citizens that have made the move from the U.S. to the Caribbean? If so, I would appreciate any information. Thanks!

I lived in the US Virgin Islads so I will not be able to answer all you questions about the legal issues. I know you will be able to get dual cizitenship (US/Grenadan) once you two are married and he files the paperwork for you. That way you can get a Grenada passport etc. You can contact the US Embassy there about other legal info. Most of this stuff is going to have to be dont by your Fiance/Husband so since he is from there he should be able to answer some of your questions about this stuff. It will be a big adjustment for you but luckily Grenada is under major redevelopment due to I severe hit from a hurricane a few years ago. I visited there before the hurricane and it was definately one of the most beautiful places I have been too. However it is not at all touristy and it is extremly rural and laid back. If I were you I would vist there and see if it is something you like before taking the steps to move there.

Once you're married, you're set. I don't know a lot of information about moving to the Caribbean from the U.S., but if you have any job offers, or any sponsors to help you, then it's a GO.

I wish you good luck on the move. All I can do is suggest for you to search on government websites and find out.
