Everyone, at some point in their lives, is guilty of making fun of someone who is different than they are -- whether they believe differently, look differently, speak differently. Therefore, we've all been on the other side of that equation as well.
Alot of us non-believers have been in the situation of being pointed at and told that we're stupid for not believing, that we're bad people, and that we're going to hell. So, some friendly fire back in the other direction isn't completely unjustified.

Well, prodding fun at a religion that I know has its good parts and bad parts just helps to fortify what's good about it. It makes the bad parts seem less bad. Of course, if you want the Crusades to seem like nothing but violence and bloodshed, including the Women's Crusades, the Children's crusades, etc., and the famous words of the pope at that time to be advertised everywhere as your mission statement, then go ahead and say that religious jokes aren't allowed. I'll just miss a laugh or two at lunch. o.o;
(P.S. This is coming from an after-Christian shintoist; I know the bible, and some of it is valuable. I just choose not to follow something that lost its true meaning over 100 years ago.)

Does believing in a Savior, instead of standing before God Himself unashamed, make you feel safe in light of your own mortality?
I do not make fun of you, nor ridicule Christianity. I am not disdainful when I pray for you to the Most Sovereign God of the Old Testament, as you know Him. Being Native American, I know Him as the Great Spirit, who is One and Most Holy.
Perhaps you should get to know your Creator a lot better. As mentioned in Exodus, HE is the Healer and will "save" you, if that be HIS discression to do so. - There is no "other" and no division, for "God will NEVER change." Check it out, my friend.

I think Christianity, in fact all religions, bring ridicule on themselves with their outrageous claims which are far too numerous to mention here.

I think those that fought in the crusades would say something like: "Does killing non-Christians make you feel whole?"

Never having had surgery of any kind, I'm already whole.
And if you don't like to be mocked, too bad. There's no right not to be offended.

If you laugh, the world laughs with you. If you cry, the world will tell you to shut up and get over it. Life is too short.
