You absolutely need to communicate.
You can make this very positive -- "Maybe we can try something else that is just as pleasurable for you and less painful for me."
Also, do you dislike the whole idea of bossiness, or just the fact that he isn't doing it very well?
I have rarely if ever heard of a male dominant who knew what he was doing until well into his 20s at the earliest. It just takes experience observing and communicating with women. Younger guys who're trying that need to tread pretty darned lightly.

If you don't like it, it wont change if you don't say anything. Communication is fundamental in every part of a relationship, even sex. You need to communicate your likes and dislikes even in the bed. If you feel embarrassed to do so, maybe your not ready to be having sex, and if you feel he may not like you as much, because the sex is different, he is with you for the wrong reasons......If your being hurt, even a little bit, you need to say something!
