Lola" is a 6 month old pit in New Orleans. She was
>brought to Anne Bell at SAF because her femur had been
>shattered by a nasty boyfriend with a baseball bat. He
>was mad at her for urinating on the floor.
>
>She was 8 weeks old at the time.
>
>The leg injury was 2 weeks old by the time the guy's
>girlfriend brought Lola in to Anne. The surgery
>required was extensive but Anne paid for everything,
>including weeks of painful physical therapy. Lola has
>lived at Anne's clinic ever since and has missed out
>on transports because she is a pit.
>
>The precious Pit Bull girl has NO aggression issues.
>She loves, kids, cats and other dogs.
>

>laws or anyone who cares enough to protect her from
>the original hell she lived - her only chance is for
>us to help her get out.
>
>If we do not move her soon they will be forced to
>return her to her original owners - the people who
>abused her.
>
>We cannot let another 2 weeks pass or we will lose
>this one. We need a safe haven - foster care, a
>forever home, a rescue...some place safe.
>
>But NOT IN THE NOLA area. Who knows why but her mean
>owners would like to have her back, possibly to fight

That was probaly one of the saddest things i have ever seen, it breaks my heart that people can think that way. All animals should be treated equally regardless of breed. Animals are no different than people, there are good and there are bad amongst all breeds. The only way to stop the cycle on this kind of thing is to spay and neuter and put restrictions on breeders that do not know what they are doing, breeding only for the money in it, not the quality of animal it will produce.
