Excellent point. The Bible is not anti-feminism, and neither is the Church. Taken in the context of the period in which the Biblical books were written, they were quite cutting edge with their view towards women.

That's why an angel appeared to Joseph, so he'd marry her and keep her from being stoned.
Jesus did not appear to be anti-females, unlike most Jewish men of His time, which is probably one of the reasons I follow Him, not his disciples or apostles.

Yeah, you know, the whole pregnancy without a husband thing usually got women stoned.
Not to mention women aren't allowed to cut their hair, wear pants, speak out of turn...how women were created from Adam's "rib" where in the original Hebrew story it was Adam's SIDE to make women equal...and we all know who translated the Bible...the church.

She got off on the wrong foot....she had to sneak out of her home town with her fiancee to cover the fact that she was pregnant prior to marriage! That alone should have got her stoned.

You are a very wise lady. And I agree that it doesn't sound anti-feminist, and I don't think that it is.

Didn't she also give birth out of wedlock? I think this is where the story of the virgin birth comes from.
