Worse. At this point Dubya still thinks there's SOMEone more powerful than himself; I shudder to think what he'd be like if he ceased to believe that.

If W. started listening to God he would be a better president but it isn't the time for a good president. Its the time for a poor soul who doesn't understand his humanity to be president. Its time for a spiritually impoverished man to steer the ship of state of the US. It is time for heedless humanity to reap what it has sown.
Its just part of our evolution. We will be better for it in the long run.
After the US is turned into green glass by a nuclear war then we will have seen our way to treat each other, everywhere, with respect and love. We will no longer allow our leaders to lie to us nor will we participate in the foisting of suffering upon the helpless and weak or anyone for that matter.
I'd also add "bad dog" or "for shame" but it wouldn't do any good. Asleep in the dust as the Leviathan is steered to the brink almost no one will awaken before the catastrophes. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you, nuclear war, a meteor, geocatastrophe and famine and pestilence. Think about it. It has to happen. Otherwise people would continue on in the same old way believing that it will be the way it is forever so that no one feels the need to make an effort to change things. Its a form of paralysis caused by a deadly poison.
If you believe that I'm making an effort to frighten you, forget it. I know better. You would only reject what I'm saying because you believe I am making an effort to frighten you. As I said, its a deadly poison. Strong delusion that you will believe a lie to your dying breath.
