Phil D ~
The bottom of any bag Everlast, Tuf-Wear, Reyes, Grant, Century, Powair, whatever should be even with your hips. This is basically to keep the bag from swinging all over the place while your working out. There is also the issue of mounting hardware, most bags come with "S" hooks and the water bags come with a spring system, this makes the bag go down when you hit it instead of swinging.

I've been to Gleason's gym in New York and Freddie Roach's Wild Card Gym in L.A. and most if not all bags are about four foot off the ground to the bottom of the bags (Typical 80 pound bag)

Thanks for the question Phil.

I do know with everlast heavy bags, the everlast logo should be shoulder width and the bag should be approximatley half your weight.
