I have a great cure for poofy hair...use Sunsilk Anti-Poof cream...it REALLY HELPS :) I have hair similar to yours and it works great on my hair.
I don't have dry or split hair either, and I can style it many ways. I sometimes straighten my hair, sometimes I scrunch it and sometimes I curl it...it all depends on your time and mood. But as a warning if you use a flat iron- use a heat protector- I love loreal paris hot straight...and if you curl your hair....use a heat protector spray. :)

The products you use will depend on your style. If you are lucky you won’t need anything much at all, but if your hair is a little difficult to manage I like a good serum for a bob and a wax or glossing balm for a pixie or shag cut. For a sleek look I really like Redken’s ‘glass’ smoothing serum. There are cheaper serums on the market, but this one is great and lasts really well. For a more textured cut I love John Frieda’s ‘readytowear’ Shaping and Glossing Balm – there’s also one in this range especially for blonde hair. This lasts for ages as you only need a very small amount on the ends of your hair. It does wonders and the best part is that this product works to control frizz and curls or to add body to flat hair!
If your hair isn’t a ‘wash and wear’ style or is prone to frizzing, have a plan for times when you might not be able to blow-dry and style it or when it might get rather frazzled by the elements– for example, a day at the beach or a day outdoors in the wind and rain. This can be a problem if your hair is now too short to tie back. Perhaps you could throw some wax in your bag (though it may not stand up all that well to the heat!). Tiny butterfly clips or slide clips and/or headbands can be helpful in this situation. Hopefully though, if you’ve got the right cut for your hair, it should still dry looking OK, even if not perfect. If all else fails, there’s always a cute cap or beanie ; ) But remember that looking a little ‘carefree’ can be charming sometimes too.

If you are seeking a modest change, consider getting layers and/or bangs to add interest and shape to your hair. Layers will take away some of the bulk too.
Layers and longer bangs are a good way to test the water because they grow out easily and offer versatility.
A good hair stylist will take into consideration your face shape and hair texture before cutting your hair.
Besides layers, a razor cut or thinning your hair w/ special shears might help make your hair more manageable.
I suggest leaving your hair long enough for low ponytails and updos. (ex. wrap a section of your hair or use a ribbon to conceal the elastic to make your pony tail more chic, a chignon is very elegant)
Since your hair is in good shape and has lots of body, you can really do a lot with it.
Smoothing conditioners, lotions and cremes will help too.
Some websites where you can find ideas:
www.matrix.com - has a catalog of hairstyles organized by length.
http://hairstyles.free-beauty-tips.com/...
www.hairfinder.com
The beauty school section of www.sephora.com has different fashion looks. The focus is on makeup but the hair styles are great and the photos give you a total picture.
Good magazines: Allure & InStyle
Larger bookstores carry magazines dedicated to hair cuts with detailed photos.

if your hair is curly and frizzy, DO NOT GET LAYERS !!!!!! they will look great when you come back from the hair salon, but will only look good after that if you straighten them.. If that is what you want however, .... the best straightener in the history of the world , by far ... that was ever created is the Sedu ionic tourmaline straightener. ive been through alot of flat irons, and i cant live without this one..... it doesnt snag on your hair , and it cuts your straightening time in half. "literally !" i have really long frizzy, curly, thick hair ( its like a beast) and it used to take me 1 hr 30 mins to straighten my hair .... now it only takes me 45 mins,,,, still alot, .. but im a perfectionist........its around 130 $ american , but well worth it! it will last you years ......... go to folica.com and search it
another great hair trick if you want a break from straightening(works for me every time)
-wash it and towel dry so that it is just damp, and comb gel or mousse or curl activator through it with your fingers ..... air dry
~good luck :)

MINE TOO!!!
lol i know exactly how you feel♥!
i just take a shower 2 hours before i go to bed, then blow dry my hair. once it is completly dry, i straighten it completely, and then put it in a super tight ponytail before i go to bed. the ponytail part is only to get the extra volume out. dont worry, it wont damage your hair or anything.
also shower every night, but wash your hair every other night or every third night so that extra volume isnt added.(unless you want the extra volume. in that case, skip the ponytail part, too.)
in the morning, you can style your hair as needed.
try this for two weeks to "expiriment" and see how it works out.
email me && tell me how all that turns out at PiNK56165@yahoo.com
♥♥i got your back!
haha just kidding!
but, no really, i do have your back!

I have a similar problem! my hair is lengthy, thick &stick immediately. It pulls the curl out if I curl it. the purely ingredient that works for me is extra small warm rollers w/enormous horny quantity spray. the first 1/2-hour curiously like shirly temple yet then curiously suitable all day. sturdy luck.

Flat iron it and go with a straight look. That's always in style. Plus, us girls with poofy hair like to have it straight and shiny once in awhile.
Try this flat iron. I personally use it and LOVE it!

if you have blonde hair that will naturally get bleached by the sun in the summer. There was this guy in my class who else had golden blonde hair that was a medium brown near the base. When he came back to school after summer vacation, it was practically platinum blonde!

maybe if you get layers in your hair, when you're @ the hair dresser, then it would make your hair less poofy. I have fine hair, but if you have frizzy hair, i love fructis sleek and shine, makes your hair so shiny!!
