alright, There's a red icon over the Volume icon in the task bar below the computer next to where the time at. It says that the Volume is on mute. Whenever I try double clicking it or try adjusting/unmute the volume, my computer freezes up and I can't do anything at all. What's the problem? How can I fix it? Someone please respond fast.

Thanks
:]

Hi there if you have a little icon over the volume icon then it could be on mute all you have to do is right click on the icon, then click on open volume control. next a new window will open which says volume control. Lastly all you have to do is make sure that where it says volume control is that you dont have it ticked where it says mute all. If it is then untick it and all should be right. Hope that helps

Try Start > Control Panel > Sounds to trouble shoot the device.

have you looked in:

Start - Settings - control panels - sounds and multimedia

also try ctrl + alt + del open the task manager and see if there is something running that shouldn't be...
