Try Biosilk Silk Therapy. You can find it at Walgreens, Target, and the salons inside Walmart. I'm sure you can find it at other places, but these are the places I always go to. The smallest bottle costs about $9, but it is so worth it. I have used Biosilk for about 4 years and I absolutely love it. After I wash and condition my hair, I pour some Biosilk in my hand and rub my hands together then rub it all over my wet hair. Then I dry my hair as normal (blow dryer or comb my hair straight back and sit under a hooded dryer for 30 minutes or so. After my hair is completely dry, I part it into small sections and flat iron it from root to end real slow. Be careful not to let your flat iron get too hot. After I am done flat ironing all of it, my hair is so shiny and free flowing. I love it and it smells really good too. I am African american too and this is one of the few products that I've found that actually works.
As for making your hair grow, I suggest just getting your dead ends trimmed every 6-8 weeks and then make sure you comb it with a wide tooth comb and sleep with something on your head at night in addition to a satin pillowcase if at all possible.

Ok girl calm down you went to the right place. Hair wax works really well just go to a hair salon and ask them if they have any hair wax they should have some. It works good for frizzy things to and there are no complete ways of growing your hair faster without dameging it more :) good luck

I use a strong gel on my hair, because many gels are alcohol free. It works on my hair, and my hair is curly and frizzy both. Hairspray and Garnier Fructis Frizz Serum also helps to tame the frizzy strands and make it smoother.
