I can't help myself. Sometimes, when I see something out of place, I have to straighten it. But sometimes, I just leave it alone. Like, in my room, there's a mess all over the floor. But my bed is completely clean, with 2 pillows stacked together, and 3 blankets piled neatly on top of each other and folded down at the top. Do I have obsessive compulsive disorder, or am I just a selective perfectionist?

Here is the question to ask yourself and BE HONEST ABOUT IT- DOES THIS HINDER ME/MAKE LIFE HARDER/ UNENJOYABLE? What I mean by that is how does this affect your functioning. Do you always come late to work because you spent so much time on the way out the door doing this? Do you do more than just tidy things up? Or do you rearrange/reassemble everything? If it is becoming something that is troublesome/bothers you/hurts your life somehow, then it is OCD.

it depends. Do you do this when feeling stressed out or scared?
Does this make you feel more calm, more in control? Do you do this with other things?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you probably do. Therapy or will power can get you through it, it doesn't sound very severe.;-)

sounds like me; you just pick and choose what you want to be anal about.

for it to be an OCD it would have to affect every thing that you do and in a negative way
