Tyr closer to 10 or 11 - 8 oz. glasses, perhaps more depending on how much you are sweating.
One way to tell if you are getting enough is to check the color of your urine. If it is a light lemonade color you're right on. If its dark yellow, you need to up the fluids more.
If you are working out heavily, remember to drink during your workouts, too!

I'd say you most likely should add more fluids, especially if you run.
A good rule of thumb used to be 6 to 8 glasses per day. If you really get up a sweat, I'd add in at least a sports drink after each run, or you just might pass out from dehydration.
What dragon above said is correct, you should be drinking enough water or other liquids until you can see that your urine is not dark and concentrated, but light and nearly color free.

They say to drink 8 full glasses a day. Especially if you run track. your body is losing lots of fluid. So you should be drinking more than 1-2. If you dont like to drink water then drink a sports drink like gatorade..... but water is still better for you.

NO! At least 8 glasses a day is recommended. Your pee is a good indication as to whether you are getting enough fluids. If it is dark yellow, you are not getting enough. If it is almost clear, it is just right. If you run track, you may get shin splints and leg cramps if you are not drinking enough water. Happens to me all the time when I don't drink enough and run!
