I want to know if any of you guys know which branch of the military, the army, navy, marine corps, or air force, is most ideal for a flight surgeon. If you could, the pros and cons of each would be much appreciated.

Thanks to those of you who replied so quickly. Flight Surgeon not only applies to Air Force but all the other branches as well. Also, I was wondering if it was better to complete one's residency first before becoming commissioned as an officer, or if it's better to enlist first and then work your way through school. Thanks.

Well personaly I suggest the US.Navy or US.Airforce. Because they specalize more in sience and healthcare. Or if you want to do flight surgeon the army seems good they do all they clean up work.^_^

If your talking about pay I guess the navy they give officers a allowance for around $2,256 monthly and full health ben....

I plan to join the navy in health care too its very good. It also makes you an officer and I love to be on a ship or a medical center.

The US. Navy is in charge of many US. Medical research.

When people hear "flight surgeon" most would automatically associate that with the Air Force, but the Navy has more aircraft than the Air Force. This is true. Opportunity is better in the Navy in this career field. There is more of a calling for flight surgeons in the Navy also. Trust me on this. I have been there.

Any would be fine. Physicians in the military are held in high regard.

Pay wise, it would be the same.. you are paid based on rank. Someone with a doctorate is an automatic officer.

Educational wise, I think the Air Force & Navy would have more opportunities in continuing your education.

I would think that the Air Force is the way to go on that one.

Army.

The flight surgeon here (he's a prick) works on HALO students, instructors and the Golden Knights.

Isn't a "flight surgeon" strictly an Airforce term?
