No. I worked with a lot of them while I was in the Navy. Several friends did Intelligence work with them. Several of the men that worked for me were trying to get into BUDS or failed out of BUDS.

The simple answer is, if you have any doubt about wanting to be a Seal you will wash out. One of the men that worked for me shattered his knee during BUDS. He wanted to continue the training with only one good leg. The doctors wouldn't let him. If you don't want it that bad you will fail.

If you do want it that bad, and you have what it takes, you have my respect.

I was in the Marines and knew a whole platoon of SEALs. Really great guys. In fact about 7 of them helped me look for my wedding ring on a beach w metal detectors. I would say if you REALLY think you can complete the training then go for it. There is a reason its extremely hard. Being a Marine, I can imagine the sense of pride they must feel upon completion.

Depends on what kind of person you are.

Would you rather regret something you did?
Or something you didn't do?

Go for it. Just understand that you are volunteering for something that not many people have the ability to do. Just prepare yourself physically and mentally as well as you possibly can. I will tell you this: No matter how much you prepare, you'll never be totally ready. But, on the other hand, you'll never know until you try it. I'm not ashamed to admit that i voluntarily withdrew from marine reconnaissance training. 12 kilometer open water swims just weren't for me. But go for it, brother. You may just make it into one of the most legendary and revered brotherhoods in history. Best of Luck.

I work with them in a support role and I'm so glad not to be one of them. They are not as impressive as they lead you to think they are. The stuff they do the regular Army and USMC guys do daily basis, nothing special forces about that. They spend more time drinking and working out in the gym than working on being a better soldier/sailor. Trust me, any one can do what they do and would probably do it 10 times better. They aren't anything near as elite as their UDT ,true Frogman days. Those guys where special men not the drunks and gym rats we have today.

i wasnt a SEAL i was just cav. i would advise you ensure you are both physically and mentally prepared for the training. i went thru basic when i was 24 and i wathced those drills eat those young kids up and spit them out, made them cry, it was seriously funny sometimes. i had fun wehn i was in basic, they have a job to prepare you for any possible contingency and it aint easy. if you think you can do it rock on dude, and good luck

Not a SEAL, but was SF and trained with some. Good men, not as smart as SF but ....!

Seriously, you better be very fit, very tough mentally and physically and very dedicated to being part of a very special brotherhood.
