This girl is a close friend, and we have gotten really close as friends lately. I am practically her best guy friend by far, and she told me in her last email that she wants to have a career yet she wants to get married. She cannot make up her mind which is more important. She used to tell me she would never date, and she was not desperate like her friends. Now, she is not sure what she wants, and she is opening up to me more and more all the time.

It's good that she's opening up to you, be grateful for that. Every woman is different but in my opinion I'd say it sounds like she's at a crossroad in her life right now. She may see her friends dating and getting serious and might want the same thing but also wants to have a successful career. Many women are torn between the two. To some, getting ahead might come 1st before a relationship, for others, they can handle both. You didn't mention if you were interested in her as more than just her best guy friend. If you are, tread lightly til you can feel out her wants and priorities or you might end up disappointed. Hope this helps.

What does it mean?
It means EXACTLY what she says; she's conflicted about having one or the other.
Someone ought to tell this gal that she doesn't have to settle for one or the other--she can have both with the right guy.
First she ought to solidify her career. Once she's set in one, she'll more easily be able to decide when the time's right to commit to a relationship.
She needs to have a solid career base no matter what; that's just her own security blanket...see?

My guess is that she's confused right now. Since you are such close friends she feels that she can talk to you about life. When she is confessing this to you I advise you to just listen and then if she asks give her your point of view on what kinds of things you plan to do just to give her an idea. Be a good friend to her and listen to every word that she has to say.

It sounds like she's coming to a point where she is really indesicive. She's afraid of making the wrong desicion and having regrets later. She wants you to be there to guide her, be a strong support for her. She is beginning to trust you as she opens up and use you as a lifeline kind of. You need to be as supportive as you can of her untill she can figure out what she wants.

It sounds like she is hinting that she wants to date you or she just needs a good trusted guy friend to talk to. Sometimes you just need a guys approval or opinion. For now I would be there for her and keep being her friend.

seems to me that she is dealing with trust issues??? she wants someone in her life but at the same time she wants to make sure she can provide for herself in case it doesnt work out? (please excuse me if i'm way off base...just speculating..)

i say continue to be her friend...if you all are meant to be it may work out...if you move on and you were a good thing...oh well...

its hard to live with indecisiveness. you will always feel like you were a second choice....take your time!!!

it means she trusts u- most people cant confide in others because they spill the secrets or its too embarrasing. the fact that she's telling u this means she trusts u and possibly likes you.

as a side note, i think she only said she would never date to cover her true feelings 4 u....
