if it's a part of human nature, is there a way we can take that out? Or are we doomed?

Becuase there is no consequences for being immature. If you could smack a jerk at will, people would act smarter, or at least keep their mouths shut.

I think that it is a spiritual problem. In the 1950's, Americans were all Christian and there was not really any difference in opinion. We all just agreed and conformed and it was very peaceful. Then the boomers came along, started the whole hippy movement, and open mindedness entered the scene. This put Christianity on the back burner and allowed ideas of new age mysticism and eastern religions to enter the scene. Then the Generation Xers came along (AKA the Me Generation) and they doubted anything traditional in America. This caused a great distrust among the people, as everyone believed in something different, people had to retreat into themselves and deal with people on a superficial level. The depth of character was lost. Finally, the millenials come along (The ME ME ME Generation), listening to crappy mainstream rap music, buying into the most superficial culture in the known history of the world, and they have no depth at all! Its hard to develop depth in yourself when everything you try to believe in can be stomped down by an oppossing viewpoint. No one has anything concrete in their lives because America is filled with so many viewpoints, so everyone is really shallow and immature.

Ya. It's human nature to judge other people. To fight and argue about ones religion, race, etc.. the list goes on. If there are no religion or race, this world would be a better place. But then again, even without religion or race, human beings will just find some other things to argue or fight about. It's human nature. And you are right, we are doomed ;)

Were doomed.
I think people are judge mental when they think passionately about something.
IE Many liberals claim open mindedness but vehemently oppose Conservative ideas.
The opposite is sometimes true as well. I think its all funny to observe.
People will not change I am afraid. But I am just making a judgment call ;)

People are usually immature because of lack of self confidence and hormones, i think. Usually guys are more immature than girls.
Just my opinion though

government schools? unable to reason from cause to effect? unable to connect things logically? If you feel you are wrong, and can't figure out why, it makes you really stressed.
